Troubleshooting

Fixes for the most common setup problems: sitemap 404s, plugin conflicts, and Cloud connection errors.

Sitemap returns a 404

Go to Settings → Permalinks in wp-admin and click Save Changes, even without changing anything — this flushes WordPress's rewrite rules and registers Seofyme's sitemap routes. This is the single most common setup issue.

Editor panel or checklist doesn't appear

  • Confirm Seofyme SEO is activated under Plugins, not just installed.
  • Deactivate other SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, etc.) — running two at once causes meta box conflicts.
  • Clear any page/object caching plugin, which can serve a stale admin screen.

Frontend tags don't match what the editor shows

Use the Frontend inspector to see what actually rendered. A caching layer, CDN, or theme template outputting its own meta tags is the most common cause of a mismatch.

Seofyme Cloud won't connect

  • Re-check that both the public and secret key from API keys were pasted correctly, with no extra whitespace.
  • Confirm your account has an active Cloud plan — a Free-tier account can generate keys but hosted AI/audits will still be blocked.
  • If you regenerated your keys, the previous pair is deactivated immediately — update every connected site with the new pair.

Hosted AI drafting or audits are blocked

This almost always means your monthly quota is used up. Check remaining generations and audits on your account page; the meter resets at the start of your next billing cycle, or you can upgrade — see Plans & limits.

Note

Still stuck? The free local toolkit (sitemaps, schema, redirects, on-page checks) never depends on Cloud connectivity — if only AI/audit features are affected, everything else should keep working normally.
