Core concepts
The handful of terms — focus keyphrase, editor score, quota, and API key pair — that everything else in these docs assumes you know.

Seofyme reuses the same small vocabulary across the plugin, the Shopify app, and Cloud. This page defines each term once so later pages can stay short.
- Focus keyphrase
- The word or phrase you're trying to rank a specific post or page for. Seofyme checks its placement in the title, URL, first paragraph, headings, and image alt text, and also counts natural word-form variants (plurals, verb forms) toward coverage.
- Editor score / checklist
- The live pass/warn/fail list shown in the Seofyme panel while you write: keyphrase placement, meta length, heading structure, internal links, readability, and image alt coverage. It updates on every keystroke and never leaves your browser.
- SERP preview
- A mockup of how your title and meta description will look in Google search results, including a live character-length indicator so titles and descriptions don't get truncated.
- A secondary phrase Seofyme suggests alongside your focus keyphrase to widen topical coverage without keyword stuffing.
- Seofyme Cloud
- The optional, metered hosted tier that adds AI title & meta generation and hosted site audits. Everything else in Seofyme works without it.
- Quota / meter
- The monthly allowance on a Cloud plan, counted as “generations” (AI drafts) and “audits” (hosted crawls). Quotas reset monthly and are shown on your account page.
- API key pair
- A public key and a secret key generated in your account, pasted into the WordPress or Shopify plugin settings so it can spend your Cloud quota. See API keys.
- Workout
- A guided, ordered checklist of related SEO fixes across your whole site (not just one post) — for example, fixing every post missing a meta description. See Workouts.
