API keys

Generate a public/secret key pair in your account and paste it into the plugin or app to spend your Seofyme Cloud quota.

4 min read

Seofyme API keys authenticate a WordPress site or Shopify store against your Seofyme Cloud quota. You generate one key pair per account from the account page, then paste it into the plugin's or app's settings screen.

Generate a key pair

  1. 1

    Open your account

Go to Account while signed in and find the Seofyme API keys card.

  2. 2

    Click Generate API keys

This creates a new public key and secret key. Generating a new pair immediately deactivates the previous one.

  3. 3

    Reveal and copy the secret

Click Reveal secret once and copy it immediately — for security, it cannot be shown again after you navigate away.

  4. 4

    Paste both into plugin/app settings

Open Seofyme's settings screen in WordPress or the Shopify app and paste the public and secret keys into the connection fields.

Example shape of a generated key pair
text
publicKey: pk_live_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
secretKey: sk_live_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX # shown once — copy it now

Warning

The secret key is shown exactly once, right after generation or reveal. If you lose it, generate a new pair — you cannot re-reveal the same secret.

Careful

Key generation is rate-limited to once every 5 minutes to prevent accidental key churn.

Do I need API keys for the free plugin features?
No. On-page SEO, sitemaps, schema, redirects, and internal linking all work without any key. Keys are only needed to reach Seofyme Cloud (hosted AI drafting and hosted audits).
Can I use one key pair across multiple sites?
Yes — the key pair is tied to your account and its quota, not to a single site. Usage from every connected site counts against the same monthly meter.
